AstareGlobe highly values the privacy of its members and puts forward the following policy regarding privacy.

Rights & licensing

By posting anything to the site, whether it is in the form of a blog post, photo, discussion board post, message, or anything else, you give us the right and license to store, use, archive, and display this information. These rights are necessary for us to use the information you post.

All information you post, even if it is private, will be visible to AstareGlobe administrators, but we will not disclose any of it without your permission.

For the purpose of data backups and recovery, we archive all data nightly, including private information. All data is encrypted, so if any of our equipment is stolen or compromised, your data is safe.

Disclaimer

Many areas offer privacy settings so you can restrict who can see what you post. Precautions have been taken to ensure the users you restrict will not be able to see the information you restrict. However, even though we take these precautions seriously, there may be times where our privacy framework fails and your information will be visible. If this happens, please notify us immediately with the URL of the page that displays your information. You can check privacy by trying to access your information while not signed in. We cannot be held responsible for anything that happens as a result of your information being visible to others.

Precautions

Posting to the site, whether through Blogs, Photos, Discussion boards, or messages between members, sends information in clear text over the Internet. Anyone that is between you and our web server could sniff the network traffic and intercept your information, even if privacy settings are enabled.

Whenever you sign in, register a user account, change your password, or change your email address or nickname, you are brought to AstareGlobe's secure site, where you will need to accept an SSL certificate. This certificate is used to encrypt information transmitted between your computer and our web server and is put in place to protect your password and other information you may submit. You can see if you are accessing a secure site by checking for a padlock icon in the status or address bar of your web browser.
